The ISTEA Enhancement Funds have been approved thus far to get a survey and conduct an appraisal of the portion of the historic site on the Camenisch property. The Executive Board met with the Camenisch Family representative, Mr. Chris Camenisch, in December to explain the project that was planned and to request permission to do a survey and permit the D.O.T. to conduct an appraisal. The meeting ended with Mr. Camenisch requesting time to cogitate our request. We are still awaiting a response from him.
The Foundation meets three times a year. The next meeting will be July 18, 1999. You will receive a notice. Recently one piece of property at the historic Fort site has come available for purchase. It is vital that we begin raising serious funds for acquisition of this property NOW. We have reached the turning point of our project. Property owners have agreed to sell and we must raise the funds. Please donate to this Project! We must raise $30,000 by July 1, 1999..
